We’re excited to announce the opening of our representative office in Kolkata, India!

essDOCS’ expansion to India is a crucial strategic step for us, providing a local presence in the world’s fastest growing trillion-dollar economy and fifth largest overall – where historical challenges in cross-border trade are now being actively addressed at the government level – as leading Indian corporates and banks are expected to further drive the nation’s move to paperless trade and trade finance.

essDOCS Co-CEO, Alexander Goulandris, added that “during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Government has taken the lead in encouraging the widespread adoption of electronic bills of lading for imports and exports, to facilitate trade processes. We are excited to be able to support Indian customers transition to paperless trade via this local office.”

The India representative office will be headed by Varun Dinodiya, tasked with accelerating our paperless trade network growth in the country and supported by essDOCS Teams in Singapore, Shanghai, Athens and London.

Varun possesses over 15 years’ experience in the commodities industry, having held cross-functional roles covering trading, business development, strategy and commercial product management at companies including Global Ore, Deutsche Börse, Kynetix and Fastmarkets MB.
